Qui ne remplit pas les conditions requises pour pouvoir se présenter à une élection. Anton. éligible. L'assemblée constituante française (...) a fait une très-grande faute, en déclarant ses membres inéligibles à l'assemblée constituée qui devait la suivre (DESTUTT DE TR., Comment. sur Espr. des lois, 1807, p. 168). Il avait été proposé, quoique inéligible, à une élection partielle et il avait recueilli près de 40 000 voix (BAINVILLE, Hist. Fr., t. 2, 1924, p. 242). Toute personne déclarée en faillite est inéligible jusqu'à sa réhabilitation (LIDDERDALE, Parlement fr., 1954, p. 92).
